Pascal Wehrlein became the first 2024 world champion in motorsport to wear a Bell Racing helmet. The German driver captured the FIA Formula E World Championship title at the end of a spectacular season, which culminated in an exciting double-header weekend in London.
This season, Wehrlein was one of the 16 drivers to wear the HP77 helmet from Bell Racing in the all-electric single-seater series, switching to a new paint design from the Portland event. He got off to the best possible start, with victory in the opening E-Prix in Mexico City, which was followed by wins in the second race in Misano and then in race 1 in London, in the final round of the calendar. Consistency of performance was a key for Pascal, as he missed the points in only two races. He also picked up additional points by scoring two pole positions.
After impressing in karting and junior formula series, and becoming the youngest ever champion in the history of the DTM in 2015, Wehrlein in 2016 made his debut in Formula 1, and then moved to Formula E from the 2018-2019 season. In his fourth season with a Bell Racing helmet, Pascal thus achieved the world title. “Every day, every morning, every evening and every time training I believed in this. I told myself “you can do this”“, Pascal told after the securing the highlight of his career.
Overall, it was another triumphant campaign for the Bell Racing brand in Formula E, where it was still the most represented helmet manufacturer. There were seven victories, thanks also to Sam Bird, Maximilian Günther and Oliver Rowland, and eight pole-positions, three of them with Jean-Éric Vergne. Furthermore, in every race at least one Bell athlete stood on the podium.
Out of ten Formula E seasons, six times the champion was wearing our helmet. Wehrlein’s title followed the ones of Nelson Piquet Jr (2014-2015), Sébastien Buemi (2015-2016), Jean-Éric Vergne (2017-2018 and 2018-2019), and Stoffel Vandoorne (2021-2022).
The next FIA Formula E World Championship will begin on December 7 with the Sao Paulo E-Prix.
