NASCAR and Daytona Motor Speedway will honor Bell driver Richard Petty on the 25th anniversary of his 200th NASCAR victory. Petty captured his 200th and final career victory on July 4, 1984 with President Ronald Reagan in attendance, the first time a sitting President attended a NASCAR race. To honor this historic victory, Petty will pace the 43 car field of the Coke Zero 400 prior to the waving of the green flag in a replica 200th win No. 43 car. While pacing the field, Petty will be wearing an authentic replica of the Bell helmet he wore in 1984. “I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of win No. 200 than leading the 43-car field for the Coke Zero 400,” Petty said. “Winning my 200th on July 4th at Daytona with President Reagan in attendance was a special moment in my career. I’m looking forward to reminiscing about that milestone with the fans.” Richard “The King” Petty wore Bell during his NASCAR career and wore the Bell Mag 4 in his 200th career victory and finished his career in the Bell AFX-1 in his final race in 1992.
