Bell driver Dan Wheldon, and his wife, Susie, welcomed their first child on Superbowl Sunday. Sebastian Daniel (6 pounds, 12 ounces) was born at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., two weeks ahead of schedule.
The Indy Car Racing website, www.indycar.com, indicates that, "Both mother and son are "doing well.""
"It was just the most unbelievable experience of my life," Dan Wheldon said. "It's one of those things that, until you experience it, you'll never be able to put into words how great the feeling is. The first time I saw the little baby, and I've just met him, I was amazed by the amount of love you can feel for one human being at that moment."
The 2005 Indianapolis 500 and Indy Car Series Champion, will join Panther Racing for the first Open Test on Feb. 24-25 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Congratulations to Dan, Susie and Sebastian!
