Clint Bowyer won the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship on Saturday, November 15. Bowyer finished the season with 29 top 10 finishes and one victory in the Nationwide Series.
During the final Nationwide race of the 2008 season, Bowyer held onto the fifth spot during a four lap dash to the finish line. "We always have to go through that last scare before the glory," Bowyer said. "That's what championships are made out of."
Bowyer headed into Saturday's race with a 56 point lead over second place driver, Carl Edwards. While Edwards won the final race of the season, Bowyer's fifth place finish kept him 21 points ahead.
Congratulations to Clint Bowyer on his first NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship.
