Carl Edwards has had a very successful streak since August of this year. He has not finished lower than the fifth spot in the last eight races. Saturday was no different. Edwards led a race high 78 laps on his way to winning Saturday's Nationwide Hefty Odor Block 200.
"We're just performing well," Edwards said. "It's a great feeling to go to the race track and know you can win. That's one thing I thought about a lot with respect to the season - I feel like we're going to be really tough for years to come. This success lately, when I'm not wrecked or having parts that fail, that makes me really excited for next year and the year after."
Going into Saturday's race, Edwards was 91 points behind Nationwide Points leader, Clint Bowyer. While Bowyer suffered damage early in the race, he was still able to finish fourth. With the win, Edwards was able to close the gap and now trails Bowyer by 56 points.
Congratulations to Carl Edwards.
