Bell Racing announces its NASCAR sponsorship program for the 2009 season. The 2009 line up includes top drivers and teams in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck series.

In the premier Sprint Cup Series, Bell boasts an impressive list of drivers which include 2008 Chase drivers Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, and Matt Kenseth.

“Bell has been riding along with the world’s top drivers since the very beginning,” said Bell Racing Director Steve Thomas. “Our racing heritage is part of Bell’s DNA, as is our ongoing support of these drivers and teams.”

In addition to the Chase drivers, Bell’s lineup includes a large and well-rounded roster that includes veterans like Bobby Labonte, Kasey Kahne, Michael Waltrip, Kyle Petty and Ken Schrader, as well as talented rookies like Regan Smith, Patrick Carpentier and Michael McDowell.

In the Nationwide series, Bowyer and Edwards are currently 1-2 in the season standings while fellow Bell Driver, David Reutinmann, sits in sixth, 601 points behind the leader.

Second place Johnny Benson leads the way for Bell Drivers in the Craftsman Truck series. Mike Skinner holds the sixth position in the series, while rookie Colin Braun (13th) has posted solid results all season long. Fellow rookie Scott Speed sits 24th despite running the series part-time. Speed won the AAA Insurance 200 at Dover in May and he’s posted five top-10 finishes in the 11 races he’s run thus far.

Bell Racing’s sponsorship program has evolved over the years to include trackside support and product development. Bell’s Racing Director attends select NASCAR races in each series to take care of drivers’ helmet needs and requests. Drivers are also frequently called upon to test Bell helmets to give feedback on innovations in design, fit, airflow and other helmet technology.

“We’re just really proud of all our drivers, from the guys who race for a living to the weekend warriors who live to race,” said Thomas. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with these talented folks in 2009 and for years to come.”

Bell Racing is currently working with several potential drivers to add to Bell’s NASCAR roster of sponsored drivers in 2009. An announcement will be made once the roster has been finalized.
