Bell driver, Owen Leatherberry, won the Kid Kart Nationals in St. Louis, MO on July 27th.  The Kid Kart Nationals is where the best drivers from the East and the West meet to see who comes out on top. 

The seven year old Leatherberry qualified 5th in a field of 28 drivers.  During the second heat, Leatherberry pulled out a last minute win down the straight away after trading the lead for the final ten laps. 

For the final, Owen scored the pole position.  After falling back for the first lap, Leatherberry was able to regain the lead on the second.  He was passed for the lead halfway through and trailed by 10 kart lengths with two laps remaining.  Leatherberry set a track record on the final lap during his charge to win when he passed the leader on the second to last turn.   

Owen wears the Bell Star 500.
