Bell driver's Donny Schatz and Jon Henry have had an incredible season. Both drivers ended the month of June on a high note.
Donny Schatz started off with a win on Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND.
Schatz's success followed him to Cedar Lake Speedway on Sunday, June 29th. Schatz started the race from the pole but quickly lost the lead to Kerry Madsen. He was able to regain the lead out of the third and fourth turns on the tenth lap. The race was stalled by two cautions on laps 18 and 22. The second caution set up an eight lap shootout race for the win. Schatz started strong on the restart and pulled away with a four car length lead over Madsen. After being challenged by both Madsen and Steve Kinser in the final five laps, Schatz came away with his third consecutive win and his sixth win in June.
"It was a good last week and a very good month," said Schatz, "I'm glad to put the Armor All machine in victory lane again tonight and cap off three in a row. We have things rolling so to speak. These guys are on top of their game and we are where we need to be at the right time. The hard part is trying to continue that."
The win was Schatz's first at Cedar Lake. Schatz is now within two wins of the fifth position on the all time win list.
UMP Modified driver, Jon Henry, chalked up another win at Eldora Speedway on Saturday, June 28th. Henry started in the fourth position in the A-Main and with a few early cautions, Jon was able to jump into the lead and take the win by an entire straightaway. The win is Henry's ninth this season.
Following the win, it was announced on June 30th that Jon Henry will join Halcomb Racing. He will drive the Jeg's/Professional Drywall #1 dirt Late Model.
"I'm really excited about this opportunity," the 22-year-old Henry said. "I really want to thank The Halcomb's and their sponsors, and I'm positive we can go out and be successful together as a team." His debut is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 4th at Attica Raceway Park.
