Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney won the Grand Am Rolex Series EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank. Despite heavy rain that began only seven laps into the race, the pack was able to complete the 2 hour and 45 minute event. Gurney passed the race leader with nine laps remaining in the 76 lap contest to win his first race of the 2008 season.  Fogarty & Gurney's best finish of the year prior to their win at Mid-Ohio was at the opening race of the season in Daytona when they placed second. 

Gurney and Fogarty are the defending Daytona Prototype champions.
