The World of Outlaws has had a tough time getting on the track in the last month. Races have been rained out at nearly every stop. Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing team pulled into Sarver, PA to race at Lernerville Speedway, and the weather outlook was finally favorable for racing.
Meyers won his first race on the road with the World of Outlaws at Lernerville Speedway. Heading into the contest, Meyers and his crew were looking for points to take the lead.
Meyers' qualifying lap put him in the third spot and he then came in second in the heat race. His finish in the heat sent him to the Crane Cams Dash were he came in third. In the A-Main event, Meyer's fell back to 5th but was able to pull into second on lap twelve follwing T-Mac (Terry McCarl). In turn four on lap 18, Meyers took the lead, only to lose it a few laps later. He was able to battle back again to win the 35 lap race.
The win was Meyers fourth and gained him a one-point lead over the second place driver. "Getting the win here tonight means so much to the team, our supporters and myself - it has brought us one step closer to the World of Outlaws 2008 Championship, which is our ultimate goal this year," noted Meyers. "Now that we are in the point lead, we have two goals - to extend the lead as much as we can and to continue to put ourselves in Victory Lane."
