HP Star Infusion
The HP Star Infusion is an ultra-lightweight carbon helmet certified to the FIA8860 standard. Like the other Infusion models it can be used in a standard, top air or side air configuration. The HP Star Infusion is SA2010/FIA8860-2010 certified and is available in sizes 7 1/8 minus to 7 5/8 plus.
The 8860 standard was developed by the FIA to improve overall helmet performance and safety and is known as the most severe racing helmet standard. Bell was the first helmet company to introduce an FIA8860 certified model in 2004. Since the initial introduction, the HP has been constantly improved and the current models are a direct result of intense research and development and close collaboration with drivers and teams.
The HP Star Infusion is the latest helmet added to Bell's HP lineup and is intended for racers in a closed car environment who use an external cooling system (available separately) or air-duct system. The helmet can also be used as a non-ventilated model for open wheel racers who want to use the FIA 8860 specification.
The HP Star Infusion features a high-strength, lightweight carbon autoclave shell, aggressive aero styling and a pro-plus style interior that provides superior comfort. The pro-plus interior delivers a custom interior fit by combining Bell’s soft plush-density fit pad system, contoured cheek-grip pad system to reduce movement and integrated collar that is designed to fully support the driver’s lower jaw bone area. With the versatility of the HP Star Infusion, professional racers no longer have to choose between a side forced air or top forced air model. Sold in the standard top air configuration, the helmet can be transformed into a side (left) forced air helmet in addition to a top forced air helmet (both the side and top air kits are included). The HP Star Infusion incorporates Bell's ground-breaking air chamber technology to increase pressure and accelerate airflow (when used with an external forced air system) to maximize airflow for improved ventilation and comfort. In the top forced air configuration, the HP Star Infusion divides the air inflow evenly in vent channels that direct ventilation to the front of the helmet to cool the face and prevent shield fogging and into the air chamber top pad, evenly dispersing airflow to cool the driver around the top of the head. The HP Star Infusion features the new Quick Lock forced air nozzle that locks the forced air connector in place yet allows for easy release. The smaller nozzle design helps accelerate airflow into the helmet. The Quick Lock nozzle can be used with traditional 1.5 inch diameter forced air hoses by using the following forced air adaptor that connects the hose with the Bell Quick Lock nozzle:

The HP Star Infusion comes in the top air configuration. To re-configure the HP Star Infusion as a side forced air helmet, install the HP Star Infusion Side Forced Air Kit on the left side, replacing the side plate that is standard with the helmet. In this configuration, the Star Infusion can be used as a duel forced air helmet. If the customer wants to remove the top forced air insert, it can be replaced with a Star Infusion top cover plate (non-forced air) which is included in the box. To transform the Star Infusion into a non-forced air configuration, simply install the HP Star Infusion top cover plate and side cover plate that come with the helmet as standard equipment. The kit is attached with small Phillips head screws.
The HP Star Infusion comes with Hans anchors installed as standard equipment.
The HP Star Infusion takes a 287 SRV Shield which features the SRV-1 pivot system and thumb tab on the drivers left side to allow for easy shield operation. Each helmet comes with a clear shield and Bell visor strip as standard equipment. The HP Star Infusion also features Bell's redesigned face piece with recessed areas that allow for seamless radio integration and easy installation. Racers can also customize the fit of the HP Star Infusion by using Bell's Cheek Pad Inserts in 5mm, 10mm, 15mm and 20mm sizes to tighten the fit in the cheek area. In addition, replacement face piece kits are available for the Star Infusion in the event the front interior chin piece needs to be replaced. The helmet is available in Carbon Finish only.
Customers buying the HP Star Infusion also may be interested in accessory items including an anti-fog double screen shield insert to eliminate fogging in high humidity environments, chin cover seals (small and large) that seal the bottom chin bar area of the helmet and a breath deflector which installs at the top of the chin bar and directs breath downward to prevent shield fogging.
